CAMBRA for the Private Practice: Profits, Practices and Clinical Results

Course Description: If you have had trouble or are interested in implementing a caries management program in your office, this is the course for you!

The role of risk factors in the caries process and useful, efficient risk management strategies will be introduced. In addition, clinical results and the profit potential of a caries management program will be described.

Course Objectives:

  1. Recognize the profit potential of implementing a caries management program.
  2. Understand the role of risk factors in the caries process.
  3. Utilize strategies to minimize caries risk.
  4. Appreciate the improved clinical results that occur after implementation of a caries management program.
  5. Initiate implementation of CAMBRA in the private practice on Monday!

August BoT Meeting

Rosetta Mazurkewicz recently attended the PDHA BoT meeting and came back with some important information for all members. Please see below. Thanks, Rosetta!

On Saturday afternoon all in attendance at the BoT were given the assignment of updating the PDHA Scopes, job descriptions, and duties for committee chairs, independent contractors, trustees, etc. Sherri Myers and Carol Martin spent the whole night entering the information. This will be presented at the House of Delegates and voted on for acceptance.

Course Description: This course is designed for those who wish to provide oral health literacy education for families and have the capacity to train others in a public health setting through community outreach; dentists, public health dental hygiene practitioners, registered dental hygienists, auxiliary dental providers, health educators, nurses, and other medical professionals.

This course provides 6 hours of Continuing Education through PA Academy of Dental Hygiene Studies and Academy of General Dentistry.

This course is also for Head Start/ Early Head Start Health Coordinators, education mangers/specialists who will support the use of this curriculum; for Child Care practitioners with the capacity to train others, especially family engagement specialists, family advocates, and home visitors who work directly with families.

Course Expectations:  The PA Head Start Association expects you to provide at least one training for a Head Start Program in your community within 6 months of being trained.
